Nailpolish color of the week: Marsala

Today was my first day of school, and I decided to paint my nails. I usually don't paint them, I really like leaving them natural, but I really liked this color. It is rare for me to choose a nailpolish with such a deap color like this one, but they look so awesome on the nails and the formula is great, it doesn't chip for days.

This color is very similar, if not exact, to the shade/color marsala. I think that the color is beautiful, perfect for people that doesn't like or don't feel comfortable wearing a bright red color. This is a brazilian brand, but I am sure that you can find this color anywhere, especially now that it is a big trend.

Like a said before, today was my first day of school, it was fun to see all my friends again, and to have conversations about summer vacations and just reconnect. But I am kind of scared, this going to be my last year, as much as I want to finish it and just get it over it, I want to freeze time and stay just where I am, because I know that as time passes by everything passes by and everyone changes.

My Top 5 Favorite Makeup Products of All Time

I don't wear makeup every single day, but when I do I always reach out to the same products. I don't always try new things, when I find a product that I like I usually stick with it. And these are the products that I would not exchange for nothing.

1. Maybelline Great Lash & Rocket Volume

One thing that I love wearing is mascara, but I like a very natural finish, I hate when mascaras give a clumpy/falsies finish. These two mascaras together give the most natural and vollumized looking lashes. The Great Lash gives length and it leaves the lashes separated, and the Rocket gives volume and it seals the lashes with a waterproff formula. Best combo ever!

2. Maybelline Fit me Foundation

This is the best foundation I have ever used, it has the most beautiful finish, it leaves your skin dewy and glowy. Most girls are not a fan of the dewy trend, but I absolutely love it, and it you like it too and didn't find a foundation that gives this type of finish, I would highly recommend this one.

For a everyday look I don't wear it on my whole entire face, I just put it on specific places like, on my under eyes and nose. When I go to a special event or something like that, I wear it as a foundation.

This is my second bottle of this product, and it isn't expensive, you can find it at any drugstore, I usually buy mine at Walmart.

3. CoverGirl Instant Cheekbones

It does exactly what it says, it works perfectly for me, it gives me glowy rosy cheekbones. I don't know if it works for everybody, but it is good to give it a try, if you are not a fan of glitter then I have to say that there is a lot, but you can remove the excess from the brush. I can never find my heekbones, thats why I always use a angulared brush to apply the blush.

4. Tarte Smooth Operator Clay Finishing Powder

This powder is great, it is light weight and it is perfect for oily skin. It awesome becuase it works for any type of skin color, but the only thing you have to take care it is to blend it well, or it is going to show on pictures, like if you had put flour on your face. It is not the cheapest powder ever, but you can find it on sale or something. I bought it on a black friday sale.

5. Revlon Lip Butter

I love nude lipsticks and glosses, but some times it is hard to find a lipstick that is moisturizing and have a glossy finish. This one is da bomb, all of the shades of their collection are awesome, but my favorite it's the shade Creme Brulee.

Favorite Brushes

This are some of my favorite brushes. The gold one is from Jc Penny, it is super soft and I normaly use it to blend something out. The white/red one is from elf, I use it to apply blush and bronzer because is angled. And the all black one is from Bella Colore and it's suppose to be a blush brush, but I use it to apply powder on specific places, like the T zone.

Answers

1. I would invite Rick Riordan and Percy Jackson, because they are both so funny and humorous, I think we would have lots to talk about while drinking coffe, because I'm not a tea type of girl, and probably eating blue colored biscuits.
2. I am going for a totaly cliche answer for this one. Harry Potter of course, if J.K Rowling writes anything, it can be a story about a random cat that it's owner is from hufflepuff, I would still read it and love it,
3. This one was hard to answer, but I chose Jace from the Imortal Instuments and Reyna from the Heroes of Olympus. They are both very strong characters, although Reyna is a pretty serious person, I think Jace would make her laugh with his sarcastic jokes.
4. I don't have like a favorite author, but I'm going to choose Rick Riordan again, and I'd just ask him if there is going be another book, but I would probably try to break the rules and say more than one sentence.
5. I was always a reader growing up, but there was a book that got me into reading Young Adults book, and that was Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. It took me a year to finish this book, did not like it that much, but that made me research more YA books and that's how I discoverd the Hunger Games, Divergent and others.
6. I would save the book that my mom used to read to me everyday when I was little, The Three Little Kittens.
7. All dystopian worlds are crazy, I don't know what to answer then, but if we have to choose one I will just say Delirium by Lauren Oliver. At least no one dies ( I think).
8. The Moth Diaries. This book is kind of unknown, but it is really good and fascinating book. It is a diary style book and it is about a girl and her life at boarding school. I'm not going to say much about the book, because I am going to do a review on it.

Little Decor Stuff

I thought of showing some of the little things I have in my room. They are kind of  what I call decor, and I think they reflect my personality. These are my favorite things in my room, well I have more, but these are some of them.

The first item I got at goodwill, it is a type of hanger, it has hooks on it and Iuse it to hang my bags. It is very unique and useful, and I love going around goodwill and finding vintage and unique pieces. I would totaly recommend you to go to any antique store and look for unique decor pieces, I'm sure you'll find one that fits your personality.

The two ceramic angels are my mother's, I don't know where she got it, but she gave them to me, and now they are sitting on my bookshelf. 

 Beside the angels there's a shoe, a porcelein clog. A Clog is a wooden shoe, it's the symbol of the Netherlands, and my mom gave this piece to me, she got as a present from a friend that brought it from Holland.

Then I have my london Telephone, I got it from TJ Maxx last year and it was pretty affordable. And on it, there's my gryffindor bookmark that I got it from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I really don't use it, because it is kind of heavy and it doesn't stay still on my books, but it is a great decor piece.

 And for last I have my posters, I have two Percy Jackson ones, that came with the two last books. And I have a Divergent one, that came with the last book. I put them on the side of my wardrobe and I love them. I have a Hunger Games poster, put it is too big to put it up on the wall.

2015 School Supplies

One of my goals this years is to be more organized with school, study more and commit to a everyday two hour study schedule. I did not have to buy a lot of school supplies this year, since it is my last year, but I got some things and I did some diy's too. The school I go to we have 14 subjects, but we don't need to have binders and notebooks for all of  them, because we have books for each subjects.

I got a pink folder to put all of my tests and assignments. I kind of did a DIY on it, I cut some magazines and randomly selected some images, and did somes collages. It doesn't even make sense.

This my agenda/planner for this year. I really like it, it has a clean and simple design on it, and it is very easy to organize your schedule. It just had one flaw, it didn't come with a pocket folder to put stuff on the inside, then I did one with paper and just glued some magazine images on it. I think it looks pretty cute. I put some post-it notes on the inside too. I love this panda ones, they are very helpful and cute.

I have lots of binders, but for this year I am just going to use one, and I chose this polka dot/teal blue one. I think it is cute and fun for school, and it keeps me pretty organized. I bought some dividers to separate some of the most important subjects. The black one is Physics, the grey is Math, blue is Chemistry, green is Biology and orange is Portugue grammar/literature.

This is my last year's notebook for writting class, and I am going to use it again this year. I love writting class, the teacher is actually really nice, we always have debates about movies and books, and we have liberty to write and speak in class.

Book Review: The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

I'm so sad that the series has ended, I wanted it to be continued forever and ever, but well I think that can't be done. When this book came out I had a lot of mixed feeligs about it, I was happy, but sad too. Because it was a great part of my life ( well, it was not like HP, but for me they were on the same level), and I did not want it to end. I remember when my friend recommended it to me, it was 9th grade, and at first I was not going to read it, because I had seen the movie and I thought it did not make sense. I used to say " Oh, but Harry Potter is way better and bla bla bla", I didn't even give chance for the series, but my friend convinced me, and it turned out to be one of my favorites series of all time.

Well, I can't say that I didn't love this book, because if Rick Riordan had written a book with only 5 pages about Percy Jackson, I would still say I loved it. But this book kind of got me disappointed, I was expecting a lot more from the last book. I missed the narrative from Annabeth and Percy's point of view, although I was really satisfied with the other chapters. 

I thought I would not like the Reyna and Nico chapters, but I absolutely loved it, they were my two favorite narrators. I have so much to say about this book and it's ending, but I don't want to spoil anyone who's reading the series or this book, then I'm just going to finish up saying that this whole entire series is awsome, and totally recommended to anyone who loves adventures. This book is awesome to give to kids who want to get into reading, and grow up with a series.

There are two series with 5 books each, one is called "Percy Jackson and the Olympians", that is focused on Percy and his adventures. And the second series is called "Heroes of Olympus", that follows 7 demigods that have to destroy Gaea and save the world. There is a lot more than this, but if you want to read the series without knowing a lot, these are the basics.

My Favorite Childhood Book

 I've been a book lover since forever. when I was little, my mom always read to me and took me to libraries and bookstores, and I think that influenced me a lot. If my mom hadn't encourage me to read, I probably would not enjoy reading as much as I do now. 

 These two books are part of a series called Adventure Museum. The Van Gogh one is called " Who's going to find Van Gogh's treasure?" (literally translating), and the Michelangelo book it's called "Who's going to find out Michelangelo's secret?".

I found out about this series when I was 11 years old, my middle school teacher told my class that we could go to the library and pick up a book that we find interesting. And then I picked up a Leonardo da vinci book ( that was part of the Adventure Museum book series), I found it fascinating and when I finished it, I noticed that there were other books and that it was a series. And that was how I discover about these two books.

The book takes place on a museum and you follow two main characters, pablo, a dog that has colorful paws, and a person. The second character does not have a name or a gender, and that is why it is so fun and interesting to read, it's like you are in the book, and it's differently written, I don't know how to explain this exactly, but it's like the book is narrating what you are doing. Here is an example from the book, " you climb the stairs and positione yourself in front of the green door...".

The book tells the story of the adventures of these two characters, that involves time traveling, meeting artists and their past and a horrible vilan that wants to steal the museum art work.

The Van Gogh book was the one that started my obsession with his art. I remember that my dad had these old magazines, that had on the last pages an artcle about art, and when they had an article about Van Gogh, I used to cut it off of the magazine and pin it on my board. And when Van Gogh's favorite color was yellow, mine was too. I remember that I graduated middle school wearing a yellow dress.
